VERTICAL MACHINES
Purpose of vertical balancing machines
Virio, VM/VE series machines are used to measure unbalance in one plane (or optionally for also in two planes) for disc rotors without their own shaft, such as, for example: rotors of blowers, fans, brake discs, pressure discs, clutch discs, flywheels, grinding wheels, saws and many others. The machines are designed for production and overhaul.
Retoolling to a new rotor type is possible in a very short time by changing the adapter. Various drive units are available from 100W to 15kW, or a servo drive (with actuator) for automatic indexing. A polar or component display is used to indicate unbalance, along with forbidden areas. Special ‘drilling’ or ‘milling’ software is included for faster and more efficient mass correction. Correction data can be transferred to an external drilling or milling machine via the ASCII interface (CAB820) or directly (CAB920).
Unbalance correction can be made directly on the machine by adding mass (correction weights) or removing mass using a drill integrated with the measuring system. The indication of the unbalance mass to be removed is done by displaying the number, depth and position of the holes to be drilled. Drilling progress is displayed during correction. Optionally, programs for correction by welding, grinding, riveting are also available.
Vertical balancing machines - application
Increased demands on machine tools – higher speed, higher accuracy, better quality – have led to remarkable developments in machining technology. What was once unimaginable has now become an industry standard. But if today's high-speed machines are to offer amazing benefits, meeting accuracy requirements is only possible when the tool, toolholder and spindle are precisely balanced. As operating speed increases, unbalance forces cause unbalanced rotation, resulting in harmful vibration, increased chatter, poor surface finish, and excessive tool and spindle wear.
Due to the continuous development of today's production capabilities and due to the quality standards our customers expect from us, precision balancing has become even more important. Tooldyne balancing machine is designed to deliver precise results in the shortest possible time for a large selection of tools and toolholders.
